Lucas Nascimento

Lucas Nascimento is a London-based Brazilian born designer and his own label is now in it's third season. The new AW11 collection features neoprene (that stuff they make wetsuits from), knitwear, cut-out detailing and metallic finishes. The collection has a great colour palette; lots of black, beige and muted, warm colours including ochre, heather and a delightful shade of green somewhere between jade and turquoise. The metallics are subtle (blues, greys, blacks) and come in the form of cocooned silhouettes of ballooned proportions (great for the new season), while the cut-outs are intriguing rather than raunchy - a great way to tap into AW11's fetish trend. Lucas Nascimento's designs have been featured in Another magazine as well as Brazilian Vogue and Elle. What's great about Nascimento's designs is that he creates clothes that are fun and playful like his native Brazil, but with a kooky, London aesthetic - a winning combination.
