Pillow Talk

You must have been living on another planet if you didn't know that October was Breast Cancer Awareness month. Fundraising events take place up and down the country - the whole month of October seems to turn pink in support of breast cancer research!
Last night, Elizabeth Hurley, spokesperson and Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign Ambassador for Estée Lauder, switched on the lights in Frasers Glasgow, illuminating the store in a pretty pink glow.
In support of Breast Cancer Awareness month, actress, designer and model Elizabeth Hurley was at the Frasers Estée Lauder counter yesterday to greet customers and sign purchases from the must-have 2010 Pink Ribbon Makeup Collection. The Pink Ribbon range includes Elizabeth Hurley and Evelyn Lauder Pink Lip Collections which are presented in a very stylish and very chic mock-croc clutch bag. Donations from each collection are donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. At 6 p.m., Hurley switched on the pink lights, officially bringing Frasers Glasgow into the huge support network for Breast Cancer Awareness month.
In its 11th year for the cause, Frasers Glasgow last night joined the impressive list of 200 famous landmarks worldwide that are taking part this year in the Estée Lauder Companies’ Global Landmark Illumination Initiative Campaign. Founded in 2000 by Evelyn Lauder, the amazing ‘pink lighting spectacle’ has made The Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign a global talking point and in turn, has supported fundraising and research possibilities for breast cancer research.

Donation: £7.50 from each purchase of The Pink Ribbon Collection in the UK will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation for its research programme at the UK's Institute of Cancer Research.
THE BREAST CANCER RESEARCH FOUNDATION was founded in 1993 by Evelyn H. Lauder as an independent charitable organisation dedicated to funding innovative clinical and genetic research. The Foundation supports scientists at leading medical centres worldwide whose research is focused on achieving prevention and a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime. In October 2009 the BCRF awarded $28.5 million to 173 scientists across the world including the UK. A minimum of 85% of all funds donated to the Foundation goes directly to breast cancer research and awareness programmes.
The Pink Ribbon is now the symbol of Breast Cancer Awareness in 70 countries globally. The theme for BCAM 2010 is “Connect. Communicate. Conquer. Prevent Breast Cancer One Woman at a Time. The Pink Ribbon. Wear It. Share It.”
