The X Factor Style Off
I don't know about you, but I'm a huge X Factor fan. If I'm honest, what I look forward to most is the X Factor Style Off between Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole each week - but then again, doesn't everyone?
Personally, for the last two seasons (current season included) I have much preferred Dannii's sartorial choices over Cheryl's. For me, Dannii wears clothes that compliment and stay true to her own style without being boring. (Is anyone else fed up of Cheryl's predictable weekly mini-dresses?)
Dannii oozes old-school glamour with a positive awareness of current trends - the Victoria Beckham dress she wore last Saturday night was incredible (the colour, the cut, the everything!) and the strapless, midi-dress she worked on Sunday night was totally on trend for autumn's love affair with womanly Fifties silhouettes. Dannii experiments with her entire look (from fashioh to make-up to hair) but still looks like the Dannii Minogue we've come to love. She treads a careful line between trashy and rock-chick, slutty and glamour, always staying on the right side of chic. (And, in Cheryl's defence, I have to say this hasn't always been the case).
I adored the blush pink column dress that our Chezza wore last Saturday night, but I felt that her new hair colour and extensions took her a step backwards in the style stakes. She is so unbelievably beautiful, but I get the feeling that recently she has been relying on her looks the last few episodes; even her stage outfit was a bit disappointing.
So, Dannii Minogue is ahead in the X Factor Style Off (especially when she chooses VB) but... there's time yet for Cheryl to turn things around.
I can't wait to see what this weekend of X Factor will bring. And I don't mean whether Cher is "rapping" or not.
