Vogue Italia - The Experience
Calling all fashion lovers! Following on from similar events in Paris and Rome, Franca Sozzani (left, editor of Italian Vogue) will be in London this Wednesday to host the Vogue Experience exclusively at Harvey Nichols.
Between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., avid Vogue readers, fashion lovers and those hoping for a career in the fickle world of fashion will be given the opportunity to rub shoulders with some of the fashion industry's finest exports including Sozzani, as well as her co-host, Lisa Armstrong (fashion director of The Times). Other fashionistas who have been involved in this exciting event include Christopher Kane, Manolo Blahnik, Giles Deacon, Katie Grand and Sarah Mower. So, if you love fashion and you're in the UK's capital this Wednesday, take a visit to Harvey Nichols Fourth Floor to be in with a chance to grill the fashion experts and go home with an autographed copy of the world famous magazine.
The Vogue Experience event will take place on the Fashion & Lifestyle Floor - the designated area will recreate the amazing Italian offices that house one of the
world's most influential and innovative fashion magazines. (In her big against pro anorexia websites, Sozzani's latest cover for Vogue Italia - shot by renowned fashion photographer Steven Meisel - features three plus size models, stylishly clad in Givenchy).

“Vogue Italia’s aim is to actively support the creativity of fresh talent, thus helping to build up a new generation of designers, photographers and stylists able to play a dynamic role in the world of fashion. London is a lively, inspirational city, and I am very happy to share this experience with those who live here and those whose ideas and creativity have made a huge contribution to the fashion system in its broadest sense.” - Franca Sozzani, editor of Vogue Italia.
“I am delighted to be involved with Italian Vogue's initiative to support new talent - particularly in my hometown of London where there is so much creativity and already so much excitement about the opportunity to meet Franca Sozzani and sample life behind the scenes of this amazing fashion magazine." - Lisa Armstrong, The Times
“When Franca approached me with this concept, I was astounded with the ingenuity of it all, and extremely excited for such an amazing opportunity to host the experience here in the UK. London is renowned for our individual slant on fashion, and a unique ability to experiment and break out of the box, thanks to the wealth of fabulously talented designers right here on our doorstep. Harvey Nichols has long had a love-affair with new and exciting talent, and we pride ourselves on discovering designers, and exposing them to the commercial market. The ‘Vogue Experience’ feels like the next, natural step in this process, and a wonderful chance to meet and greet the next generation’s young, talented, creative’s in their quest to be the next big thing.” - Averyl Oates, Harvey Nichols’ Buying Director.
