Book Outfits ~ Sandy Browns are Timeless

The first (and most major) leg of my European tour is ostensibly devoted to the UK release of Timeless. In honor of that book I present to you some outfits that mirror its color pallet.

A casual equestrian meets steampunk look for daytime.

And something a little more formal.

And here are some modern looks from the runways and street.

Burberry London 2012

Fun street looks.

And some add campaign shoots.

Not willing to do a whole outfit in shades of brown (with perhaps a pop of mustard)? How about some nice brown accessories?

And some shoes from my own collection.

Not interested in shoes, how about a lovely brown bag?

My brown bags.

Vintage one for Hubba Hubba in Burbank $30; and a little wrist muff with zipper pocket

Some jewelry that's lots of fun.

The Blake bar earrings at lanajewelry.com; Tirana Jewelry bracelet at tiranajewelry.com

And some additional accessories from my own collection.

The two I am really coveting!

And now on the the meat of the blog, some retro stuff! Yay!

Brown Check from Moon Zoom $35; a modern retro plaid dress from Haight Street $15 added clock buttons myself.

Still from Cold Comfort Farm (you should watch it, it's a GREAT movie)

Downton Abby; 1940s look
1960s Geoffrey Beene Augusta Auctions; 1960s Luis Estavez 1stdibs.com

And now, something for my characters to wear!

Less Is More

Regular followers of The Daydreamer will know that I am a huge fan of designer outlet shopping emporium, Bicester Village. Possibly the most luxurious way to do discount shopping, Bicester Village is a gorgeous outdoor village dedicated to providing high fashion at affordable prices for stylish customers.
To celebrate it's 15th anniversary, Bicester Village has launched a website featuring an online exhibition of timeless pieces, curated by the legendary Colin McDowell. Not only is McDowell incredibly passionate and knowledgeable (understatement!) about fashion, he is a kind and charming man. (He once telephoned me personally at home to give me advice on my writing career).
The Bicester Village 15 Years of Style website also has an online charity auction in support of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity. Here you can bid on designer goodies from luxury labels such as Mulberry, Yves Saint Laurent and, this week in particular, Marni. Not only will you add classic, stylish pieces to your wardrobe when supporting Timeless, you are doing so for a great cause.
Guilt free shopping? Count me in.
