Miss Dior Cherie

Yesterday was the most glorious spring day, so Mr Man and I decided to go for a short bike ride. It made me think of Miss Dior Cherie, when she rode through the streets of Paris in her summery dress in Sofia Coppola's TV ad campaign last year. (Read my previous post here).
The Miss Dior Cherie scent has a springtime spirit; floral and fresh with notes of patchouli and jasmine, full of joie de vivre. Feminine and fun, it's a wonderful perfume for wearing when bright daffodils and colourful tulips are blooming, and birds singing in the trees. It's a flirty, somewhat cheeky fragrance with a sensual undernote of musk, evoking happy memories each time you wear it.
The ad campaign this year features Natalie Portman and it seems that the sensuality of the fragrance is the focus this time around, with Portman's eyes looking into the camera over her bare shoulder. I personally find it slightly too easy to turn the page of Portman's portrayal of Miss Dior Cherie and much prefer the original ad with Maryna Linchuk wearing a pink dress and summer hat, looking out from a rose garden with a surprised expression. For me, Linchuk personifies Miss Dior Cherie (playful, spontaneous and romantic), encouraging  everyone to become that girl when they wear her fragrance, and this is exactly how I felt in the sunshine yesterday.

Miss Dior Cherie, £60.50 for 50ml or £85 for 100ml.
With thanks to Christian Dior.
