On Sunday, Mr Man and I went out for dinner with his Nan (and other family) to celebrate her birthday. We went to The Landmark in Dundee, which was refurbished not too long ago. The venue inside is modern, but understated, and the conservatory style restaurant was lovely - listening to the rain was nice, but I imagine it can get pretty hot when the sun is out! The food was tasty (I recommend the pea and pancetta soup) and the conversation varied as always.
Finding a great outfit for family dinners can be tricky. You want something that shows you've made an effort, but nothing OTT. Lately, I've been obsessing over jackets, so that part was a no-brainer. I am desperately seeking a great, fitted but relaxed (does this exist?) version, somewhere between boyfriend blazer and statement jacket, but I've yet to find it. So, meantime, I'm wearing my navy H&M jacket a lot, and for dinner I chose indigo jeans - smart in colour, but relaxed in texture: perfect. To add an element of fun (it was Nan's birthday after all!) I wore a pair of fuchsia New Look platform sandals with cut-out detail.
