As well as the regular Beauty Busters review post, this Friday I have news of Tom Ford’s first cosmetics collection. As you know, I adore Tom Ford – the man, the fragrance, the line – and so I am very excited to tell you that a full cosmetics range will be available from October. Following the incredible success of his retro-inspired lipstick collection, Ford has added a complete range of colour and skin treatments to his rapidly growing empire. The new cosmetics line includes moisturisers and cleansers to prime the skin, foundations and brighteners for a flawless, radiant complexion, eye shadows, liners and mascara to emphasis the eyes (whether muted, or über glamorous) and lip colour, cheek colour and a brow sculptor to define. Tom Ford doesn’t do things by halves, so I wasn’t surprised to learn that there is also a range of brushes for perfect application.
Ford knows how to deliver the lavish, whether in the form of a sumptuous scarlet velvet cocktail dress (Mr Ford, please feel free to send this to me) or a simple yet luxurious brow brush to define your features.
What I love about the Tom Ford beauty line is that it is accessible. If you look at Ford, he is always immaculately dressed; stylish and sexy without compromising on class and mystique. He is the epitome of his brand and the cosmetics collection allows all of us to access a little piece of the Tom Ford factor. The lucky ones among us can also access the lavish clothes, the glamorous sunglasses and frames as well as the plush beauty products, but the real Tom Ford factor comes from within – the attitude and the mood – and Ford is simply helping to package it well.
Tom Ford Cosmetics Collection launches at Tom Ford Private Blend counters nationwide on 3rd October 2011.
The collection is previewing from tomorrow at Harrods, Selfridges London, Harvey Nichols London and Brown Thomas Dublin.
