Collette Dinnigan: Portrait of a Woman, Fall 2011

I have fallen in love with Collette Dinnigan's Fall 2011 collection, Portrait of a Woman. It's incredibly feminine, but the structured shapes and different textures make it interesting and fresh and new. The tailoring and the incredible use of Italian lace brocade, Venetian wool, Rococo organza and noir French lace result in a slightly mystical collection reminiscent of eras gone by. I can imagine the dresses and jodhpurs being styled for a costume drama or equestrian magazine shoot, but equally, I can see a modern woman (say, Michelle Obama, Tyra Banks, Olivia Palermo or Kate Bosworth) wearing something from the collection.
Or, even just a lady who likes to wear pretty things. Like me.
