My local shopping centre, Overgate, has done me proud by winning the prestigious Shopping Centre of the Year Award at the Scottish Retail Excellence Awards. The result was announced last night at The Crown Plaza Hotel in Glasgow after Overgate fought off stiff competition from Silverburn and St Enoch Centre in Glasgow. Overgate has a huge range of high street stores including Oasis, French Connection, Debenhams, Next, H&M, GAP, Office and the fabulous new Topshop. Cruise recently joined Overgate, bringing a little taste of high-end fashion to the bustling shopping centre.
General Manager of Overgate, Angela Brennan said of the triumph, "Overgate is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and this is the best birthday present we could ask for. Since the centre opened in 2000, we have been committed to the continued development of a first class retail experience. This award is a testament to the hard work our staff have put in over the last ten years to deliver over and above the expectations of Tayside shoppers. Competition was tough but we are extremely proud to be taking this award home to Dundee.”
