Pretty Little Peacocks

Supermodel and style icon, Kate Moss, is set to marry her beau Jamie Hince tomorrow and just ahead of her big day, high street giant Peacocks has announced the launch of their first wedding dress – a replica of the Alexander McQueen bridal gown worn by Britain’s only other Queen Kate, Catherine Middleton.
The Peacocks wedding dress will be launched on Sunday 7th August (exclusively on the Peacocks website) and will retail at £60. The dress will come in sizes 8-18 and the classic, Grace Kelly-esque style will suit most figures which means it is likely to be an instant sell-out.
The Peacocks’ limited edition white lace prom features a sweetheart neckline, lace half sleeve with three-button detail and a satin trim bow belt. The skirt is produced from cotton sateen and has been designed with a full circular sweep to accentuate and flatter womanly curves and yet will create curves for those with more althetic body shapes.
Antonella Bettley, Peacocks Head of Ladieswear said: "Since the royal wedding, we have seen a new trend for sweetheart necklines and lace in our occasion wear. Catherine’s dress had elements that translated well for our customers, the classic neckline with the overlay of lace, and full skirt, were not only classically beautiful but also flattering for a womanly figure. Our first bridal dress incorporates the sweetheart neckline, lace detail and full skirt. We hope the dress makes customers feel every inch a princess whether they choose to wear for their own wedding or a summer party."
I think the wedding dress is a brilliant idea for brides on a budget, offering good value for money in a timeless, pretty style. Personally, I wouldn't want to wear a replica on my big day - but I do believe this dress will fly off the shelves - it tends to be the effect both our Kates have on the world.
