It's already mid June and Scotland has seen approximately 4 weeks of summer since the beginning of April, but we got lucky today because it was a rare day of summer. And it's Sunday!
When the sun comes out, it inspires me to wear colour. I love bright colours, but I don't often wear them and I think this comes down to the lack of hot weather, that the sun hardly ever beats down on us like it does when we go on holiday. Anyway, today I met my beautiful friend Rhian (she's gorgeous inside and out) for lunch and I decided to wear a kingfisher blue Oasis skirt with a stone Pepperberry top and the most amazingly exotic necklace from Past Times. I absolutely love this necklace, the bright turquoise, the rounded almost half-moon shape, the hook and eye closure (I hate when hair catches in clips) and the size. I like that it's big but that it lies flat against the chest. I have a thing about collar bones (don't ask) and if a necklace is too heavy or bulky I simply can't wear it, but this one is perfect in every way. Great with a simple top or with just a bikini and kaftan.
When I met Rhian, she gave me my birthday present early - she's off on holiday tomorrow - so I opened it with her. It's a gorgeous bracelet and again, it rests flat against the wrist. It's just the right tone of gold; it will go with everything.
What does the summer inspire you to wear? Do you like brights? Or metallics? Or fresh, crisp whites? What's your summer favourite?
