Dolce & Gabbana have released their newest fragrance, Pour Femme, as part of the Dolce & Gabbana classic fragrances. Laetitia Casta is the face of the new fragrance - Casta is the latest woman who embodies the Dolce & Gabbana personality: strong and confident but with a soft, vulnerable side to her fiesty, Mediterranean personality. She is sensual, but in a sophisticated, self-respecting way.
Being the scent to launch the Dolce & Gabbana classic fragrance line, the campaign for Pour Femme had to be one that epitomises the Dolce & Gabbana brand. Shot by the super duper Mario Testino, the scene is set in a Southern Italian village square, where Laetitia Casta plays a girl who takes time out from a wedding party to daydream about her beloved (played by Noah Mills). The parallel universe of daydream takes Casta and Mills on a journey of elopement, through the narrow Italian lanes of magnificent baroque architecture, along the beautiful Mediterranean coastline in a classic Fifties sports car, which takes the young lovers to a beach where they enjoy each other to the sounds of "Citta Vuota" by Mina.
The campaign (and the fragrance) take you on a journey of romance and fantasy, where passion and love conquers all and nothing else in the world matters. It is little wonder that Laetitia Casta was cast for the job - she brilliantly portrays the sensual, hot-blooded Italian that is the Dolce & Gabbana woman. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana explain: "She is a woman aware of her own beauty, who loves to take risks and knows how to get what she wants with her gentle touch and her sensuality. Laetitia has always bewitched us with her sensual and natural charisma: she is the perfect interpretation of a Dolce & Gabbana woman of today."
Daydreamers, it may be that we can only dream to be as bewitching as Laetitia Casta - but if a bottle of Pour Femme will help us believe the fantasy, then so be it - I'll take ten!
